A.k.a. Godspell Original Cast

1971 Off-Broadway Cast, the original cast of the Cherry Lane Theatre production of "Godspell". Also may be referred to as the American Cast. The original cast defined the personalities of each character as the show was developed. Most of the characters' names are simply the first name of the actor, so the characters are more easily identified by the song they sing. The actor cast as John the Baptist doubles later in the show as Judas Iscariot.
