Ζαχαρίας Φασουλάς
Cretan artist [lute] born at Anogeia, Mylopotamos, Rethemnos, Crete, Greece in 1936. He was Νίκος Ξυλούρης Lute player from the very start to the very end.they were called Τα Ανωγειανάκια [Ta Anogeianakia] After the Anogeia burning by the Germans in 1944 he went at Herakleion along with Νίκος Ξυλούρης, they settled there around 1947 - 1948 and started their first live performances outside Anogeia. At Herakleion back then traditional Cretan Music wasn't popularar, because of the European music [Tango, Waltz etc.], so they were forced to lern some of them and play them more the most part of their performance along with Cretan Music in smaller proportion. The went to Athens and got in touch with Μίνως Μάτσας & Υιός Α.Ε. in order to record an album but they were refused, because once again Cretan Music wasn't popular. After that tey worked at Φίξ Brewery in Athens for a while and returned to Crete. Their contact was Γιάννης Μαρκόπουλος was defing because it was then that they started recording at Odeon and Columbia
