The Orchestra of Modern Music Of ERT (Hellenic Radio Television) was founded in 1954 form composer/pianist Giannis Konstantinidis (Γιάννης Κωνσταντινίδης alias Κώστας Γιαννίδης) and composer Akis Smirnaios (΄Ακης Σμυρναίος alias Γαληνός Κιουσόγλου). Also known as: Eλαφρά Ορχήστρα του ΕΙΡ (1954) Oρχήστρα Ποικίλης Μουσικής της ΕΡΤ (1974) Oρχήστρα Σύγχρονης Μουσικής της ΕΡΤ (1994) Part of the Μουσικά Σύνολα ΕΡΤ together with the Εθνική Συμφωνική Ορχήστρα της ΕΡΤ and the Hellenic Radio And Television Choir.
