Sofia Emfietzi started her singing career in Thessaloniki, Greece in 1979. In 1981 she formed Αθηναϊκή Κομπανία along with D. Hatzidiakos, N. Doukas, H. Kanellopoulos and G. Nikoleris. For the next 10 years, until 1991, she performed live with this group all over Greece. In 1991 she leaves the band to start a solo career, releasing her first solo album, «Την επόμενη μέρα», in 1992. After returning to Thessaloniki, she collaborates with Rebetiko singer Μαριώ (1996-1999) and Δημήτρης Κοντογιάννης. In 2001 she collaborates with Θόδωρος Παπαδόπουλος on Κώστας Φέρρης' stage show «Το Καφέ Αμάν του Φέρρη». The live recording of the show is released on a quadruple CD. She is still active as a stage performer on various live music venues in Thessaloniki and Athens. Recently, she appeared in Athens with bouzouki ensemble «Δρόμος» and «Χαμάτ» .
