Τρύπες (eng: Holes, rom: Tripes) were formed in 1983 by Giorgos Karras (bass, music by) and Giannis Aggelakas (vocals, lyrics by), influenced by the 'post-punk era' of that time. Michalis Kanatides (guitar) and Kostas Floroskoufis (drums) accompanied them at their first appearance. 1984: Babis Papadopoulos replaced Michalis Kanatides at the guitar. 1985: Recorded their first same-titled album for Ano Kato Records. Originally released in 500 copies. Repressed a while after with different artwork. 1986: Kostas Floroskoufis was replaced by Giorgos Tolios. They performed live in Athens for the first time at Rodeo club, Kyttaro club and at the open-air amphitheater of Lycabettus, where they supported Δημήτρης Πουλικάκος (Dimitris Poulikakos). 1987: They abandoned Ano Kato Records and with borrowed money they recorded their second album "Πάρτυ Στο 13ο Όροφο" (Party On The 13th Floor), which was finally released by Virgin Greece. 1988-1989: Band's appearances became more frequent, performing with Παύλος Σιδηρόπουλος (Pavlos Sidiropoulos) at "Alsos" and "An" club in Exarchia, Athens. 1990: Released their third album, "Τρύπες Στον Παράδεισο" (Holes In Paradise) and made the first concert outside Greece, in Belfort, France. On 20/1/1990 they performed live at Φιλοσοφική Σχολή (Thessaloniki), along with 'The Last Drive, 'Deus Ex Machina (5)' & 'Πίσσα Και Πούπουλα'. 1991: A concert was held at Lykavittos in front of 3.500 fans. Asklipios Zambetas (guitar) joins the band as the fifth member and second guitarist. 1993: A fourth album was recorded and released, titled "9 Πληρωμένα Τραγούδια" (9 Paid Songs). The attendance of their live performance at Lycabettus (again) was 10.000 people. 1994: Recorded the OST for the film "Η Εποχή Των Δολοφόνων" (Era Of The Murderers) of Nikos Grammatikos. Within the same year, they released "Κράτα Το Σώου Μαϊμού" (Hold The Show Monkey), a compilation of live recordings from four concerts which took place at "Rodon" club and five unplugged songs. 1995: Concert tickets were sold out at "Mylos" club (Thessaloniki), "Rodon" club (Athens), Manchester city and "Marquee" club in London. 8.000 tickets were sold for the concert at the "Peace & Friendship" stadium at Pireus. 1996: Released "Κεφάλι Γεμάτο Χρυσάφι" (Head Full Of Gold). It went gold in two weeks. On 14/7/1998 they performed at 'Rockwave Festival' (Piraeus), along with 'Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds', 'Ελληνιστάν', 'Cornershop', 'Moby' & 'Ενδελέχεια'. 1999: Released their last album "Μέσα Στη Νύχτα Των Άλλων" (In Other's Night). 2001: They disbanded.
