Andrey Doynikov (b. 1981) is a Russian percussionist, marimba performer, pianist, composer and conductor. He graduated from Gnesin School, studied piano with Vladimir Tropp at Russian Academy of Music and percussion at Moscow Conservatory with Mark Pekarsky. Since 2008, Doynikov is a Ph.D. student and assistant of Prof. Peter Prommel at Hochschule für Musik Detmold. He was a guest lecturer at Conservatorium van Amsterdam in 2011. Since a debut concert at Grand Hall Of The Moscow Conservatoire in 1997, Andrey Doynikov performs regularly around the world. He played with such artists as Yuri Bashmet, Mstislav Rostropovich, Alexei Lubimov, Bobby McFerrin, Mario Brunello, and Mark Pekarsky. Doynikov also wrote original music for 28 films and documentaries, notably – for a number of prize-winning films of Sergey Miroshnichenko.
