Gavriil Nikolayevich Popov (Гавриил Николаевич Попов) (September 1904, Novocherkassk – 17 February 1972, Repino) was a Russian avant-garde composer. He is best known for his six Symphonies, his Organ Concerto and his Septet (or Chamber Symphony) (1927) for flute, trumpet, clarinet, bassoon, violin, cello and double bass.
