A.k.a. Григорий Абрамович Варшавский

Grigory Abramovich Varshavsky (1924-1989) Soviet poet-songwriter, playwright. In 1972 emigrated in Israel and after moved to United States. Because of this in USSR he was branded as a traitor, books were not published his poems disappeared from the USSR periodicals and theatrical posters, the performances made by him were removed from the repertoire. He remained in history as the author of the text of the lyrical superhit "White Snow" and the unofficial anthem of the largest city of the Urals "Sverdlovsk Waltz" - to the music of the composer Yevgeny Rodygin.
