A.k.a. Иван Иванович Башмаков
A very prolific writer for the people, those who labored for him for more than a quarter of a century, and died in Moscow in April 1865. He wrote mainly under the pseudonym of Ivan Vanenko. His first collections: a novel "Crank" (1835); "Tales of the Russians" (1838); "The Stories" (1839), "Russian songs" (1841) had no great success, but in 1841 he published a couple of new Russian tales "About the soldier Yashka, red shirt, etc. and to 1848 survived five editions.
