A.k.a. Константин Георгиевич Носов
Konstantin Nosov (1938–1984) was a Soviet jazz trumpeter, one of the first outstanding improv players in Soviet jazz of the 1950s, son of the famous songwriter-composer Georgi Nosov. He was known as a refined intellectual, books and records collector – his LP-collection of 1950-60s contemporary jazz was one of the biggest in Leningrad. Nosov started his career in the Orest Kandat Jazz Ensemble, where he played from 1956 to 1959. After that, Konstantin joined Yusef Wainstain Jazz Orchestra and also organized a quintet with soloists of the ensemble Gennadi Golstein (alto saxophone), David Goloshchekin (piano), Stanislav Streltsov (drums), and Victor Smirnov (double bass). In 1966, Konstantin Nosov and other members of the quintet left the orchestra. Since then, he had been playing in Ady Rosner Orchestra, Vadim Ludvikovsky Orchestra (1967–69), Evening Arbat Orchestra, Melodiya Ensemble (1973–79) and Oleg Lundstrem Orchestra. Nosov immigrated to Bulgaria in 1979. He continued playing jazz with Simeon Shterev Quartet, Orchester Sofia led by Dimiter Simeonov, and Dynamite Brass Band septet (since 1982). Musician participated in various international festivals, such as Golden Orpheus and Jazz Jamboree Festival.
