A.k.a. Сергей Захарович Асламазян (Սերգեյ Զաքարի Ասլամազյան)
Sergey Aslamazyan (1897–1978) was a Soviet-Armenian cellist and composer, one of the founding members of Komitas Quartet (played with the group from 1925 to 1968), People's Artist of Armenian SSR (1945) and the recipient of Stalin Prize (1946). He graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in 1927, received his PhD in 1929 and started teaching there in 1937. Aslamazyan arranged numerous classical works for Komitas Quartet and other string ensembles, including Georg Friedrich Händel passacaglias, Johann Sebastian Bach chaconnes, and Niccolò Paganini variations.
