Тибетски Сърца

Band,
Dance and Electronic

Tibetan hearts are influential Bulgarian electronic music group, which according to some initiated the beginning of electronic music in Bulgaria. The musical group was established in 1991 in Sofia having five members, influenced by new wave style. Later on they elaborated their proper electronic dance music style that would become later known as Tech-Trance, characteristic mostly for the Bulgarian early electronic movement. A year later in 1992, brass-section joined the band and they started experimenting within the music style fusion. In 1993, two of the members - Peter Dundakov and Nikolay Madjarov, aka Faicheto decided to concentrate their creative efforts on electronic music but didn’t change the name of the formation – Tibetski Sartsa. They started working as sound engineers in the Gencho Stoev recording studio and shortly afterwards their first single was produced. It was called after the name of the formation, Tibetski Sartsa, and consisted of three compositions with total time 25 min: `The Age of Tea`, `Hearts of Tibet` and `Twist-a-Polka`. Very soon afterwards `Twist-a-polka` was filmed in a video. The release of the debut single was noticed by the specialized media and the duo was nominated for the Annual Music Awards of Rhythm magazine in four categories - Debut of the year, Single of the year, Video and Producer of the year. In the period 1994 -1998, Tibetski Sartsa were focused on their studio work, thus establishing themselves as one of the best studio teams in Bulgaria. Under the mark `Made by Tibetski Sartsa` appeared theatrical music, the soundtrack for the ballet show `Faust` and many others. 1997 was marked with the appearing of the name Tibetski Sartsa on the Bulgarian dance stage. They created a large number of songs for famous Bulgarian artists, such were the music for Marius' album Love War, remixes of Irina Florin's songs, the sound finish of Avenue's album Labyrinth, etc. In mid-1998, Tibetski Sartsa started working on their debut album `PsychoKinetic` which was released on May 29, 1999. The specialized media acclaimed the album with great positive reviews and Rhythm music magazine put Tibetski Sartsa on the cover of their June issue. `PsychoKinetik` was called the `Bulgarian techno sensation of the year`. It has been sold in more than 6000 copies so far. The participation of Tibetski Sartsa alongside with international techno stars like Josh Wink, Sven Vath, Takyu Ishino etc., in the Metropolis techno parties, brought them popularity abroad. Additional proof for their musical talent was a participation in a techno parade in Paris. It took place in autumn of 1999. As a consequence Tibetski Sartsa received international recognition. The duet faced up the new Millennium with compilation of compositions, they have made since 1991. `91:01` was a retrospective project of Tibetski Sartsa and showed the progress of the electronic music in Bulgaria during the decade, including experimental pieces such as their first single, the theatrical and ballet soundtracks. `91:01` was manufactured in only 500 copies with unique design - hand-made booklet, a real collector's provocation. The album was released for distributing only through the AveNew Productions' site.
