Band, DE
German Lukyanov Trio was a Soviet jazz ensemble, formed in 1965 by German Lukyanov (flugelhorn), Leonid Chizhik (piano) and Vladimir Vasilkov (drums). It was Lukyanov's second band, formed after a debut trio with Mikhail Terentyev (piano) and Alfred Grigorovitch (double bass). The trio had tremendous success at the 3rd Moscow Jazz Festival in 1966 and received five awards, including Best Ensemble, Best Composer and Best Performer. Later, the line-up was changed with Igor Brill (piano) and Mikhail Kudryashov (drums) joining by the end of the 60s.
