El Dor El Awal is an Egyptian band blending jazz sounds with oriental beats. The band started with a jam between أحمد عمر (Ahmed Omar) and محمد سامي Mohamed Samy. These rehearsals took place in a flat in the first floor. Therefore they decided to call the band al-Dor al-Awwal, meaning "The First Floor" in Egyptian Arabic.
