A.k.a. صالح بن عبد الرحمان بن محمد المهدي الشريف (Ṣāliḥ Ben ᾽Abd al-Raḥmān Ben Muḥammad al-Mahdī al-Šarīf) Salah El Mahdi
Ziryab is a pseudonym for the Tunisian musician Salah El Mahdi. In the years 1951 - 57 he worked in the judicial system. During those years, because of his position, he only composed and under the pseydonym زرياب (Ziryab).
