Sharq (East) is a Jordanian group formed in 2006 in Amman. The group attempt to modernize and develop oriental music in a way that would preserve the music’s authenticity, yet, give it a fresh and new sound. Members are: طارق الجندي (Tareq al-Jundi) - Oud آلاء تكروري (Ala'a Takrouri) - Flute يعرب سميرات (Yarob Smirat) - Violin خالد بلعاوي (Khaled Bal'awi) - Cello معن السيد (Ma'en al-Sayed) - Percussion ناصر سلامة (Nasser Salama) - Percussion لارا عليان (Lara Elayan) - Vocals مهند عطا الله (Mohannad Atallah) - Vocals
