He was one of the founders of جمعية الفن والأدب (al-Fann wa-l-Adab Society) in the capital Algiers and the leader of the societies orchestra جوق "جمعية الفن والأدب" للجزائر العاصمة (The "al-Fann wa-l-Adab Society'"s Orchestra).
