A.k.a. 貴島正一
Masanobu Tokuchi. Japanese composer and singer. Born in Okinawa prefecture on October 26, 1916. Died September 13, 1998. In 1943 he debuted as a singer on Nippon Victor under the name 貴島正一 (Shōichi Kijima). In 1951, he moved to King Records, as a composer, before later moving back to Victor. After that, he wrote many hit songs such as "上海帰りのリル", "お富さん." and "島のブルース". It was often said that his melodies were based on folk songs from Amami and Okinawa.
