100 Monkeys' third album of 2009, GRAPE is the first to go through all of the hoops of postproduction and multiple takes and fold-out CD inserts, and the result is an album that catches the spirit this band exhibits in concert better than any previously released. Packed with songs that are dear to Monkey fans, GRAPE also serves as a perfect introduction for those new to the group. These songs are concert mainstays for a reason. The energy demonstrated is only surpassed by the musicianship. Particular high points are the pure rock of Jackson Rathbone on "Orson Brawl", the heartbreaking Ben Graupner on "Looker", and Ben Johnson's voice FINALLY being done justice by a recording on the late Spencer Bell's "The Monkey Song." The only thing better than this album is seeing 100 Monkeys live, so until the tour hits my hometown, GRAPE is a reccomended Monkey fix. Singer Jackson Rathbone is famous for his role in the "Twilight" Saga movies. In 2012 the track "Sweet Face" appeared during an episode of the new TLC Reality show "Breaking Amish".
