Members: Choco and Junior Rivero The 1200 Warriors is the brainchild of Jose “Choco” Reynoso and Junior Rivero, a duo based out of New York City. Influenced by the streets of Washington Heights in New York City and the duo’s ethnic roots, The 1200 Warriors bring forth a new era of music; a representation of sounds borrowed from dance to hip hop and everything in between. After 15+ years of friendship, individual success as DJs, remixers and producers, and several partnering on projects, a global phenomenon was born. After the duo’s debut single on Defected Records in 2004 was picked up for Jazzy Jeff’s compilation, they went on to release their first EP on Oomph Recording titled, “Round One” which launched a steady stream of successful of both original and remix projects released on labels such as Guesthouse Music, Robsoul Recordings, Flatpack Traxx, Greenskeepers Music, Code Red Recordings, Loveslap Recordings, Dufflebag, Farris Wheel Recordings, Disko Zoo Recordings, Metrogroove Records, Whitebeard Records, Defected Records, Jump Recordings, Sampled Recordings, Coyote Cuts Recordings, 4Kenzo Recordings, Magnetic Recordings, and Beatdown Records from this powerhouse duo. Choco and Rivero have remixed projects for House artists such as Jay Marks, Wattie Green, Wally Callerio, Gene Farris, Heather Johnson, Avon Stringer, and Eman & Doc Link; as well as cheeky side-mixes for commercial artists like Omarion, John Legend, and The Police. 2007 marked the launch of the 1200 TRAXX label, a digital-only label that, in addition to releasing their own original material, has shared top charted successes with such artists as Michelle Weeks, Ky-Mani Marley, Keith Robinson and Craig Mitchell, KRS-ONE and The Wu-Tang Clan. 1200 TRAXX has experienced its share of successes with releases from artists such as Sonny Fodera, Lee Jarvis, Mero, Kid Enigma, K-Nto, Jorge Watts, Giano, Robb Swinga, and Danny Dance; with more on the horizon featuring some of House music’s most relevant artists of today.
