Album IT 2009 on Neue Kultur label
Electronic (Ambient)
Music and the occult have always been closely associated, either in the positive sense of creating appropriate atmospheres for the effective enactment of ritual, or negatively, like the scare that certain uninformed busybodies promulgated some years back, to wit, that if you play certain records backwards then you’ll hear all kinds of hidden messages to either kill yourself or praise Satan. This split six-tracker, from Luna Dopa and Italy’s 1997EV, is deeply enmeshed with aeonic occultism, judging purely from the CD cover and at least one project name; but just because it is occultic in nature it didn’t mean I wanted to slit my wrists or pay craven homage to the red, cloven-hoofed one. Instead, I found it a soothing and deeply relaxing way to let my mind wander into the deep chasms of time and mind, and drift serenely into new dimensions of space. Heathen Harvest
