3. Herrn was formed in Aurich, Germany in 1982. They recorded a demo tape and opened for Die Toten Hosen on occations (sometimes credited "Dritten Herrn" or "Dritten Herren"). They later changed their name to The Strangemen, switched to english lyrics and moved to Berlin.
