49° Nord is a European avant-jazz/free improv trio, formed by a Danish experimental jazz guitarist Hasse Poulsen when he moved to Paris in 1997. Joined by Christophe Marguet on drums and Bertrand Denzler on saxophone, the trio released their debut album with a live concert at Copenhagen Jazzhouse in June 1998. Two years later, 49° Nord recorded a few sessions at La Muse En Circuit studios in France, subsequently released as their second album on AV-ART label.
