A.k.a. Craig A. Longmiles Craig Longmiles

Craig Longmiles (born October 27, 1973), better known as Six-Two, was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. He is known for rapping, singing and songwriting. Known by his Stage Name Six-2 believes himself less as a rapper per se and more a conversationalist and story teller. His music career began as a teenager when he and friend El Dogg created the group GenaCide. They gained notoriety and radio play from their song “Tha Citi” from their album “Waste uva Cular”. Six-Two also received national radio play when DJ Greg Street featured “Simple As That” on his “Six O’clock” mixtape. While continuing to work on new material Six-2 was approached by and introduced to DFW legend The D.O.C by friend and producer Erotic D. After D.O.C heard and saw Six-2’s natural raw talent, he brought him out to Los Angles to meet Dr. Dre and work with him on his upcoming “2001” album. While he was there he was able to write and be featured on two songs that made the track line up XXplosive featuring Hittman, Kurupt and Nate Dogg and “Bitch Niggaz” featuring Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre himself. “2001” debuted at number two on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, selling 516,000 copies in its first week. It produced three singles that attained chart success and has been certified sextuple platinum in sales by the RIAA after sales of six million copies in the United States. Despite mixed criticism toward its gangster-themed lyrics, “2001” received generally positive reviews from music critics. As of July 2013 the album has sold 7,664,000 copies in the United States. Due to the success of the album Six-2 joined the lineup for the “Up in Smoke Tour”. The largest most successful hip-hop tour in U.S history to date. Upon returning to the DFW area Six-2 set upon releasing his first solo album that featured the talents of The D.O.C., Dr.Dre, Snoop Dogg, M.C. Ren, Nate Dogg, Ice Cube, Devin The Dude, just to name a few, but due to some misleading paper work it was released by The. D.O.C. titled “Deuce”. In an interview with DUBCNN The D.O.C. confirms that the album was originally intended to be a Six-two album. After leaving D.O.C and Silverback Records Six-2 was once again approached by another Hip-Hop legend, Timbaland, and asked to come to Miami, to work alongside him and a few other artists and song writers (Attitude, Kerri Hilson) as an independent artist/songwriter to create the now known as “Shock Value” album. While there he co-wrote The Pussy Cat Dolls number one hit song “Wait a Minute”. After having to fight for and winning his rights to “Wait a Minute” all the songs from “Shock Value”, with exceptance of “Release” featuring Justin Timberlake, he co-wrote and/or performed on were removed or the vocal redone for the Timbaland album. Even though Six-Two is listed in the album's booklet he is mislisted as Craig Longmile instead of Craig Longmiles. He is placed in the number one spot on List of number-one R&B singles of 2000 (U.S.) with "Bag Lady" by Erykah Badu. In true Six-2 style, as soon as he returned back to Texas he joined up with Big Mike (of the Geto Boys) and went down to Huston were while working on a new album “Southern Hydro”. They wrote and shot the “Down Home” video that went on to become one of the most viewed videos on YouTube in 2008. While due to some personal matters that needed to be attended to by both parties the album has yet to be completed and released but with most of it recorded with tracks featuring Pimp C, Bushwick Bill, Kory Blues and Devin The Dude. They both still plan on releasing it in the near future. Since then he has released “Mac-a-roni and G’s”, “Affiliated” and “Concrete Evidence” in street album form. Next to that he shot a video to his single “Monsta” featuring Yung Lott, Faddy Daddy, and The GS Boys that premiered and continues to on MTV and MTV.Com during All-Star Weekend 2012.After taking a short hiatus Six-2 is back. With two street albums, “Legendary Vol. 1” and “Legendary Vol. 2” and a new solo album called “Still Affiliated“ which was released in October 2013. Six-2’s words of advice for upcoming artists “Get your paperwork right. Make sure you have a lawyer look it over. Don’t take anyone at face value. Protect yourself and get what’s yours.”
