With „El Otro Mundo“, that legendary duo named 7 Samurai (aka Panoptikum, Dubben, Les Gammas) delivers a special collection of versions, takes and remixes from the acclaimed „El Mundo Nuevo“ album.... covering a wide range of musical styles as usual, yet always staying true to their original sound. The limited edition 3 x 7“ box set (only 100 copies worldwide!) includes three very rare/deleted 7“ singles, each one featuring a bonus version or remix on the flipside! Of course, the 7 Samurai are known as true diggers. So it comes as no surprise that „El Otro Mundo“ also includes their lovely take on Inner Circles lost reggae unclassic "Jah Music", featuring the vocals of Gilles Peterson fave Alicia "Blue Eyez" Smith (Dwele, Jamiroquai backing singer). This takes you straight to funky Kingston... with Blue Eyez sounding almost like a reincarnation of Minnie Ripperton! The originally batucada-influenced tune „Favela Gyal“ (featuring MC Coppa) gets an ultra hot electro remix by Zero Cash sporting a great break... hands up! And Zero Cash slips also into some tight trousers and provides a sexy R&B-style “Slow Down”-Mix as a special bonus… for the ladies! No wonder, that his tunes are played by e.g. Erol Alkan, Tiga, Boris Dlugosch or Malente. Jamaican born Desmond Foster – who has also featured on several tracks with Stockholm´s finest HipHop/ Freestyle producer Freddie Cruger – lends his soulful voice to the intimate Zilverzurf track „The Moment is Gone“... which has been transformed into a pure Disco-reggae outfit by the 7 Sams. All in all, the 7 Samurai once again present a killer, genre-bashing collection of original tracks, sizzling collaborations and outstanding remix work... manifesting what those „in-the-know“ have realized quite some time ago already: the 7 Samurai are some of those real cool cats!
