Il s'agit d'un groupe de dub « athmosphérique » du sud ouest de la France. Aïzell est une des expressions désignant la boisson anisée qui faisait fureur au début du XXème siècle. Certains de ses membres ont fait parti d'un obscure groupe saintongeais au nom plus évocateur : Absynthe (ou Absynthe et les tortues). Une partie d'entre eux participera plus tard, à d'autres projets comme le groupe Minitel, Le groupe est lié aux origines du Kif Festival de St Aigulin qui a su faire découvrir les « musiques actuelles » au fin fond de la Charente.
