Lucía Libia Agudelo Rebolledo; known as Alba Del Castillo was born February 6, 1935 in Medellin, Antioquia, Colombia ~ † June 2, 1971. Bogota, Cundinamarca, Colombia. The lyrical soprano singer coined The Nightingale of the Americas; was one of the most popular singers of the time covering compositions by Ernesto Lecuona "Siboney" and Jorge Bravo De Rueda "Virgenes Del Sol". Her career spanned only three album releases that was well received in the Americas as well as Europe. During the preparation for a European tour; she passed away from a cancer that was only discovered when during a routine medical clearance for travel divulged the infirmity. She was only 36 years old.
