Born January 16, 1979 in Brooklyn, New York. Died at the age of 22 on August 25, 2001 along with eight others in a plane crash in The Bahamas after filming the music video for her single "Rock The Boat". Aaliyah was an American singer, actress, dancer and model. Releasing her debut album "Age Ain't Nothing but a Number" in 1994, Aaliyah gained success. Her second album "One in a Million" released in 1996, and her third/final album, "Aaliyah", released in 2001. Aaliyah has sold an estimated 24 to 32 million albums worldwide.
