Aaron Siskind

1903-1991 US, New York City

American photographer (4 December 1903 in New York City - 8 February 1991 in Providence), considered to be involved with the abstract expressionist movement. In his autobiography, he wrote that he began his foray into photography when he received a camera for a wedding gift and began taking pictures on his honeymoon. He worked in both New York City and Chicago.
