Album US 2010 on Wing Gate Records label
World
This is the original, 1960s pressings on Detroit's Wing Gate Records. The liner notes read: Critics and audiences across the United States have hailed Abner Jay to have one of the finest voices in the world. Born into a Gospel family in St. Simons Island, Georgia, Abner began singing before he could walk. The songs he writes are songs of his life experiences. For nine years, Abner toured with the world famous Rosetta Tharpe. In Cleveland, Ohio he completed three years of school concerts and lecturing on the History of Folk Music. While entertaining a recent political convention in Detroit, the microphone system went out of order, and none of the entertainers could be heard. This had no effect on the strong voice of Abner Jay. Overwhelmed with the strength and quality of his voice, the crowd gave Abner a standing ovation. Listen to the original beat and style of Abner Jay.
