The Brazilian band Acidente existed as to 2 different groups. The original band (formed in 1978, split in in 1987) was rooted in the fusion of two others: Banda Só Por Uma Noite (1974-1977), and Leviathan. Their style is described as "a wide range of rock/pop styles, from basic rock'n'roll to blues, country and some ballads", and they issued two albums and a single. In 1989 a new Acidente was formed, issuing the instrumental prog album 'Em Caso De Acidente... Quebre Este Disco'. Over the years since Acidente have existed with ever changing line-ups, with only leader Paulo Malária in common on the CD album "Technolorgy". A parallel band called Pega Varetas re-united Paulo Malária and former original member Helio Jenné in 2003, and other versions of Accidente have existed since releasing further albums.
