Album US 2018 on Jack Trax Records label
Dance (Acid, Acid House, Techno)
Maltese producer Acidulant’s “We Are Children of Acid” forthcoming EP is in no small way an homage to mid-80s Chicago house music, with sounds from the classic Roland machines spiritually transporting the dancer to the moment of acid house’s origin. The first track, “Jack & Acid (Original Mix)” sparks the dancefloor with its rolling bass refrain and energetic percussion while the second track, “Rise to Yourself feat. Lexicon Avenue (Original Mix)”, cuts a deeper groove. Opening with a sizzling acid bassline and boomy kick, the EP’s title track is gorgeously constructed, with a rich vocal, some jazzy violin, and a thoughtful variety of percussive elements. Closing out the release is “The Underground Ritual”, a dark, electrified tune with an echoey synth refrain and elaborate percussion, sure to delight the house heads as it sets fire to the floor.
