Composer / Conductor of Classical
Adalbert Marković was a famous Croatian composer and conductor. Born February 19, 1929 in Zagreb, died January 5, 2010 in Zagreb. With his jazz fan friend Krešimir Oblak he formed the Admira jazz orchestra in 1944. After the war, from 1945 on he was a leader of several amateur choirs, so between others from 1961 to 1971 he led the Akademski Zbor "Ivan Goran Kovačić". He completed his composition studies at the Ljubljana Music Academy in 1959, Lucijan Marija Škerjanc class. From 1954 he worked in Zagreb as music teacher, composer, radio editor and later on as professor at the Zagreb Music Academy. He is also the author of a significant opus of orchestra-, chorus-, chamber- and tambura- music.
