Adam Marsland
voc,
Singer of Rock and Pop
Through over 1,000 gigs and nearly 800 sessions, vocalist/multiinstrumentalist/songwriter/producer Adam Marsland has explored every facet of life as a musician. From his rough and tumble years touring with punk-pop band Cockeyed Ghost through his travels as a DIY trouabour to his current role as producer, session musician and label owner, Adam has never stopped growing, exploring and expanding.
After helping to spearhead the "pop underground" scene in mid '90s Los Angeles, Adam and Cockeyed Ghost were signed to Rykodisc-distributed indie Big Deal in 1996. Constant touring, shows with Redd Kross, Shonen Knife, Fastball and Third Eye Blind, an appearance in an NBC TV movie and on the cover of the L.A. Weekly followed, as did four albums, each more critically acclaimed than the last.
Following the bankruptcy of Big Deal, and anticipating big changes in the music industry, Adam changed focus. Using primitive crowdsourcing and social networking years before it was commonplace, he became self-sufficient as a recording and touring musician. He founded the Karma Frog label to tour and promote his albums. He was constantly on the road from 2000-2003, 2008-2010, and 2013-14, and a cult following supported the tours and Adam's new recordings.
