Album AU 2017 on Slice Records label
Dance (Minimal Techno, Techno)
Sunriser is a quality album of meshed melodic flavours with exceptional bass and drum rhythm choices with Tim Ward coming at us with his own brand of Melodic Techno which breaches its boundaries being both progressive in nature and even subtly glitched around the edges. He begins the album with a track ironically named ‘Closure’ which in part begins to reveal Tim’s sense of humour. Tim draws you in with his hypnotic and skillful full use of vocals in ‘Dankepa’ and then with the deep impact of a sub bass introduces his war on drugs with ‘Drug Man’. A very dance worthy track, intelligent vocal edits and indeed a pleasure to the ear sockets. Aerobiotic throws out a manner of twists and turns with his acidic ride ‘Felta Skelta’, one of our personal favourites. Snap shots from the past and anticipation of the future can be felt in this microcosm of a world that Tim has created. On a whole the album reflects Tim’s personal journey through the dance music scene of which he is experienced playing to and being on the dance floors of Melbourne. Navigating through the early birth of outdoor festivals and into bush doof’s, his talent is bound to bounce you out of bed. This man has done some serious musical head miles that’s for sure and is one for young and old. Really fantastic album and worth the wait from Mr Tim Ward.
