Aerosol is an Italian band formed in the early '80s in Genoa. The two founders Franco Debernardi (keyboards, vocals) and Tony Tedde (bass), who had experiences with Misterius Melody and ICM, gave life to this project to connect the Progressive music with the Italian song. The first line-up included, in addition to the founders, Maurizio Stagnitto (guitarist) and Rocco Cirigliano (drummer), later replaced by Alfredo Vandresi. In 1981 Aerosol recorded the songs "Solo una goccia nel mare" and "Fuochi d'inverno". After some recordings Maurizio Stagnitto left the group, and the group remained a trio. The influences changed from English progressive to new wave, with the new songs "Cina" and "Disco Yoga", in a 7-inch 45 rpm co-produced by Sotter Records. For studio recordings they were helped by the guitarists Claudio Vallegra (ex Misterius Melody), Massimo Gori (Latte e Miele) and Claudio Capurro on Sax. Aerosol's carreer started in 1982, when vinyl was broadcasted by several independent radio stations in Genoa. The trio made a lot of success with various interviews and even managed to have some space on Rai Radio 2. The band took part in various festivals in Genoa. Then Ugo Bigozzi's guitar added more Brit New Wave sound. In that period we can remember "Scene Dal Mio Ultimo Film" and "Triangolo Delle Bermuda" also recorded at Sotter Studio Records with Ugo Bigozzi. After a period of crisis and absence of inspiration they decided to change their style into Italian song by the inclusion of singer Angela Macheda. Aerosol recorded with her at the Gulliver Studio in Genoa two new tracks, "Io vivrò" e "Donne". In 1984, Franco Debernardi and Angela Macheda left the group. The survivors tried again new wave with Bartenor Edo (ex Scortilla on vocals) and Fabio Giorgi (keyboards, accordion), who made some good recording, but without achieving desired results. After a short time Ugo Bigozzi tragically died and this story definitely marked in the beginning of 1985, the end of Aerosol.
