Album US 1980 on Paul Winley Records label
Hip-Hop/Rap
This version is the original pressing. It can be distinguished from the subsequent versions several ways, which include, but are not limited to the following: First, the circular crescent logo for Paul Winley Records printed on both labels lacks the stem found on, for example, the side B label of the 1982 reissue version. Second, although similar, the characters etched into the runout grooves on this version are noticeably smaller than on subsequent versions. Third, subsequent versions have noticeably thinner runout grooves and play with some noise, the latter of which has been attributed to the fact that many of the subsequent versions did not originate from the original audio masters. Instead the audio was sourced from vinyl pressings, which likely were copies of this version, and, as a consequence, can also be identified during playback by the intermittent presence of noise transposed from the original vinyl source of the audio.
