Born Agathe Backer, and later married to Olaus Andreas (Olam) Grøndahl. Agathe Backer Grøndahl (Dec. 1, 1847 - June. 4, 1907) was a world famous pianist and composer in her time, and the first female who was respected and got recognition as both composer and performer in classical music in Norway in her time. Sister of Harriet Backer.
