Children's Music (Story)
From the BBC children's radio series. Old Mr. Bosseyman is in charge of the "Lost Noises Office" which is where your toys go if they lose their noise. It is a lovely office, full of all your favourite sounds waiting for their owners to come and collect them. Mr. Bosseyman has a little pixie to help him whom I called 'Pickles'. When Mr. Bosseyman is away (having lost his own voice) Pickles has a lovely time playing with all the noises. But oh, what a muddle he makes! When customers come to claim their noises, Pickles just cannot find the right ones. He gives the lion's roar to a tiny little kitten, and a ships's whistle to an angry railway engine, and a cuckoo to a grumpy old grandfather clock. You can imagine how glad he is when Mr. Bosseyman returns and puts everything back in order. You'll have such fun with this record, hearing all you favourite noises, trains, rockets, fireworks, animals, hotters, the sea, machines – and scores of others. Reviewed as a new release by W. A. Chislett, "Nights at the Round Table", Gramophone magazine, December 1961, p. 325.
