After making hiphop, metal and dance music, Airway-X (Erwin Palper) went solo in december 2008. A combination of rock, breakbeats and samples is what gives Airway-X it's distinct sound. Ever since he was 6 years old Erwin was playing guitars, which later would be accompanied by programming and sampling. In everyday life an audio engineer, but productionwise Airway-X is more of an experimentalist. Gear can be home-built or circuitbent, which results in a sound that differs from the now so common preset-culture in music. Or, as the organisers of Subtopia (bi-monthly Drum 'n' Bass party in Amersfoort) put it: "Airway-X is well known to the average resident, as this musical centipede has grown up grabbing anything that generates sound. His music therefore consists of many styles, but has an extremely danceable character and great hooks to it. An extremely good sound we can't afford to miss!" Beyond the 'standard' laptop sets you see nowadays, Airway-X is capable of putting up a complete live show, including live guitars and drums. A visual show is an important part of all this.
