A.k.a. T. Elder
With a penchant for obscure instruments and a loquacious way of crafting lyrics, Aitch hails from the wooded mountains of Oregon. Though the band has taken many shapes and forms since their inception in 2006, founder T. Elder has been consistently at the helm, producing music that’s as varied and insightful as his own inner workings. Aitch’s inaugural release in 2007, ¡Aitch Y Double Hockey Sticks!, saw success in their then current music scene of Santa Rosa, CA. However, with his first son born in 2009 and another in 2011, T. Elder put the band on the backburner to attend to fatherhood duties. Never letting his judicious mind rest, two solo albums made their way from T. Elder’s mind through his pen and collection of rare melodic mechanisms into a set of lo-fi recordings that channel the emotions of fatherhood and coming of age. Both (ampersand) and The Lie You Leave, released in 2011 and 2012 respectively, were Aitch’s last blips on the map while T. Elder’s sons became older. Now at ages where they can join their father on his recordings, Aitch is back in the studio and creating a sound that’s yet again different from previous tracks. From home recordings in closets to productions in professional grade studios, Aitch produces memorable and catchy music that might cause you to pull out a dictionary in order to fully grasp their lyrical depth.
