Rock, World and Folk
Spanish prog rock band in the beginning. It emerged around 1970 when several friends of Soraluze came together to play: Ramón Aranzasti, Juan Luis Ibarzabal, Iñaki Arriarán, Jose Cambronero, Jose Antonio Ruiz and Ramón Pía. In all these years a lot of people have passed through the group. They proposed translating the fashionable songs into Basque, for many years it has been a classic in parties, squares, festivals and pediments. In later years they hardened their sound in the style of the great rock bands, using powerful lights and effects like smoke. The group was dissolved in 2004. The vocalists have been, perhaps, the best known: Xabier Madina, Anje Duhalde or Jexuxmai Lopetegi. Between the musicians they emphasize: Jose Alberto Batiz, Markos Juaristi, Xabet Arozena or Iñigo Moñux. Although there have been many musicians who have collaborated with Akelarre.
