Alambic is a French band founded in 1974 in the region of Grenoble. During their first 7 years of existence they rehearsed and gigged locally, and played some concerts as support acts for the likes of Henry Cow, Magma, and even Van Der Graaf Generator, but never recorded an album. In 1982 a fire destroyed the house were the band played and had all their studio equipment; this dramatic event stopped the band's activities for ten years. They reconvened in 1992, and recorded their first album Numéro Deux ("Number Two" !), followed by Hybrida the following year. No news have been heard from them since. Line-up : François Pompidor (bass) / Jean-Marie Pompidor (guitar) / Christophe Jacquelin (keys) + others unknown
