The score by Academy Award nominee Alan Silvestri was a replacement score for the late Jerry Goldsmith, who was the original composer on the project before leaving the film because of creative differences with the studio. The film underwent last minute editing cutting its running time from 124 MInutes down to 104 Minutes for its theatrical run in February 2000. Silvestri's score also underwent changes (mostly minor) which is why there are alternate tracks featured on the album to fit the timings for the theatrical release. The majority of the material featured on the album is in tact as featured in the film. The album features comprehensive liner notes by the esteemed Daniel Schweiger and was a very limited release of 1000 copies which has since quickly sold out.
