The following is a summary and explanation of a thesis equivalent that takes the form of a series of radio programs on communications. The project is an attempt to combine academic and journalistic approaches to a comprehensive overview of current communications research; to examine the business and concerns of a major international communications conference with a view to translating the material into a form acceptable and interesting both to scholars in the field and to a wider lay audience. The resulting thirteen half hour programs in the series have an underlying humanistic theme and, as communications resource material and radio broadcasts, deal with human communicative problems and concerns of wide universal interest.
