American composer, pianist, organist, and educator. (Philadelphia, May 19, 1895 - Los Angeles on November 16, 1964) Malotte is best known as the composer of the most popular musical setting of The Lord's Prayer in the English language, composed in 1935 and introduced on radio by John Charles Thomas. His output was mainly focused on religious settings, however, in addition to "The Lord's Prayer," "The Beatitudes," and the "23rd Psalm," he was also a prolific film music composer, writing (both credited and uncredited) the scores for almost 40 films during the 1930s and '40s, including "Ferdinand le Bull".
