Musician of Brass
Guitarist. Originally from Argentina, Airman Alberto Cosano began playing guitar more than 17 years ago. Trained in Argentina as an electric and acoustic guitarist, he performs a wide variety of styles ranging from rock, to classical, and jazz. Alberto has backed many popular artists including the Nelson Brothers, the Platters, and the Drifters. He also spent time as a radio show producer, winning the Gaviota de Oro award in Buenos Aires, Argentina, for his hosting and selection of rock and roll music. Before relocating to the USA he traveled the world playing on luxury cruise ships with companies Princess, Royal Caribbean, and Celebrity, respectfully. Alberto got his undergraduate degree in Argentina from La Colmena school of music and master's degree in classical guitar performance from the University of Idaho where he was also a teaching assistant. He recently returned from Europe after completing a year and a half gigging marathon with his jazz quartet, Off the Record. Alberto is currently a guitarist with the Band of Mid-America, performing a vast array of styles ranging from solo classical guitar, to jazz and rock. Before his appointment with the Air Force he served as part-time faculty at Nebraska Wesleyan University, as the jazz band director. Other appointments included guitar instructor at Southeast Community College, Nissa's String Studio, and Creighton University.
