A.k.a. Alejandro Tello
Engineer, DJ and producer Alejandro “Sosa” Tello Jr. Has been on deck and in the booth for some of New York’s hottest up-and coming artists including Homeboy Sandman, P.SO the Earthtone King, Jasmine Solano, Fresh Daily, Tanya Morgan and Oddisee. Additionally, Sosa is the talent behind mixing albums for a handful of prominent artists including Aesop Rock, Ski Beats, DJ Spinna, the Beatnuts, J-Live, Exile, 2 Hungry Brothers, Illmind, Ben Grymm, Paul White, Knxwledge, Iman Omari, Oddisee and Large Professor to name a few. Beyond spinning tracks and producing beats, Sosa is the father of Ampliphonic Studios, which is a private studio he owns and operates full-time in Cambria Heights, Queens. The Queens native DJ and producer has been involved in creating music since birth, inspired by his mother’s passion for singing. Growing up, Sosa enjoyed a close relationship with his father and spent every weekend from the age of five into his 20’s in his father’s shops. Sosa easily combined his passion for music and talent for mechanics by learning how to DJ after receiving his first set of turntables at nine years old. Throughout high school and college, Sosa took on a myriad of jobs to buy equipment, working at sharpening his skill for mixing by producing mixtapes. For over 20 years, Sosa prepared to work full-time in music by interning at various recording studios across New York. Recently Sosa has DJ’d at SXSW in Austin, Texas, Brooklyn’s Annual Hip Hop Festival, Hip Hop Kemp (Czech Republic) and various cities around the world.
