Romanian born electronic music DJ & producer Alex Preda is currently based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, his seamless style of mixing music that fluidly emanates from the DJ booth and studio, effortlessly creates the repetitive throb and thump of 4/4 beats and slow-burning momentum that is synonymous of his sound. His vibrant ability to create sets that embody a perfect melange of complex melodies and hypnotic progressions, serve the inherent function of making your body pulse spontaneously to its rhythms. Music has always played a major role in Alex’s life and his listening preferences span the genre spectrum including such artists as, Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Moderat, Royksopp, Enigma, Cafe Del Mar compilations and classical music. Gaining access to the multi-faceted music making programs like Ableton Live and Logic Pro, Alex effortlessly acquired an affinity to broadening his music making skills. Determined to perfect his production and mixing skills, Alex Preda facilely fuses together the conventional sounds of techno, tech house and deep house, to create a unique and melodic flavor that is distinctive to his style. Limitless in his creative process and consistently driven by the endless possibilities of music creation, Alex has an impeccable ability to demonstrate his burgeoning production skills that are more than there to merely churn out mindless, and expendable drivel. Recently, his momentum has risen to a steady and electric pace. This continuous progression is mirrored in his release “Bucium”, on Manual Music, his home label. Expanding his releases on other labels as Stripped Digital and Krafted Music Group, have further lent to shaping his modern sound signature. Alex has received support from established local and international DJs such as Miss Melera, Nick Warren, Olivier Weiter, Dimitri from Amsterdam and Paul Hazendonk. He has shared the decks with industry stalwarts as Nick Warren, Guy Mantzur, Nic Fanciulli, James Zabiela, My Favorite Robot, The Model, Simina Grigoriu, and Darko Esser. His exposure has led to a plethora of press articles that reflect his success and progress. His most recent achievement has been the ‘Burn Residency 2016 Romanian Winner’ and also listed in the Burn Residency Global Top 10, from over 9000 applicants. During the Burn Residency Bootcamp in Ibiza, Alex had the fortuitous opportunity to further hone his art of djing by connecting and learning from industry greats as Carl Cox, John Digweed, Uner, Dubfire and Philipp Straub. Together with Mira Joo (Hungarian contestant) he won Carl Cox’s b2b challenge and placed 2nd in the ‘John Digweed remix challenge’. Alex’s remix from the ‘John Digweed remix challenge’ released on Bedrock in December of 2016, denotes yet another important milestone in his career. His increasingly and ever popular “Layers” radioshow can be heard on a monthly basis on di.fm/progressive. His music has been charted and played on various radio stations and podcasts such as Krafted Music Radio, Proton Radio, Frisky Radio, Decoded Radio, Progressive House Worldwide Promo Sessions.
