Electronic and Pop
Alexander M. is a performer & producer tormented by the possibility of marrying the lyricism of Gershwin with the sound of Köln nightclubs. His debut Alexander's Festival Hall album, 'Not A Dry Eye In London' is chiselled out of solid popcrete, and contains zippy pop, peppy electronica, and wistful whistleable tunes. Working under the name “The Age of Reason” AFH produced, arranged and performed on The Yearling (Hotel Records, 2009) - a cosmically beautiful record full of heartbroken electronics, folky saws, TR808s and massed lady-vocal brigades. He started out in Baxendale, a pop band to the Europeans and an indie band to the UK media... The all-conquering I Built This City came out on Kompakt in 2005 with mixes by Justus Kohncke and Michael Mayer. Previously they were on another respected Koln label, Scheinselbstanig Recs, which released "Your body needs my sugar" in 2004 with remixes by Milch.
